Paying People To Kill Us – China’s Focus On Biological Warfare

By Charles “Sam” Faddis | AND Magazine | May 16, 2021

It is clear to anybody who can read and is willing to think for themselves by this point that COVID-19 almost certainly came out of a Chinese bio lab in Wuhan. You can continue to believe in the bat soup hypothesis if you want, just as you can continue to believe in any number of other fairy tales, but that does not make it real.

It is also clear that Dr. Fauci and a number of other prominent American scientists had extensive contact with the Wuhan lab and Chinese scientists working there. There has been no wall between the United States and China when it comes to potentially deadly “gain of function” research on coronaviruses. Fauci in particular knew about and funded work at Wuhan that was specifically designed to make naturally occurring viruses more deadly to humans.

What is perhaps less well appreciated is the context in which all this occurred. Let’s forget for a moment that the sloppy lab practices in Wuhan were well known or that in general the tendency of studied organisms to escape from lab conditions and return to the “wild” has been well documented. Let’s just focus on this question, what should Fauci, and his associates have reasonably assumed the Chinese were going to do with the new “Frankenstein” viruses they were building?

Let’s talk about biological warfare.

In 1996 two Chinese air force officers, Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui produced a seminal book entitled “Chao Xian Zhan: Dui Quanqiu Hua Shidai Zhanzheng yu Zhanfa de Xiangding” (Warfare Beyond Rules: Judgment of War and Methods of War in the Era of Globalization). It was published by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

The central premise of the book, which has largely guided Chinese defense thought since, was that Western, imperialist powers had created the law of war in order to handicap other nations. The rules these powers had established were meant to give them a permanent military advantage and prevent the “oppressed” nations of the world from ever achieving parity or supremacy.

The solution the authors posited was that China should reject these rules. It should fight outside the box established by the West, and specifically it should seek forms of warfare, which could bankrupt its enemies and trigger economic collapse. The authors specifically cited chemical and biological weapons as examples of tools the Chinese Communist Party should use to defeat its enemies.

In 2010 a book called War for Biological Dominance was published by Xinhua Publishing House. It was authored by Guo Jiwei, professor and chief physician at the People’s Liberation Army’s Third Military Medical University. This work expanded on the idea that biological warfare should be part of any future conflict waged by Communist China.

In 2015 the idea of biological warfare was taken to the next level by then-president of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, He Fuchu, who argued in an essay that biotechnology would be the deciding factor in any future war. Biological warfare was not just permissible. It would one of the keys to victory. The author subsequently became vice president of the PLA’s Academy of Military Sciences – the People’s Liberation Army’s highest level research institution. What began as an idea for a new approach to warfare had now become dogma.

document written by Chinese scientists and Chinese public health officials in 2015 specifically discussed the weaponization of SARS coronavirus. Entitled The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons, the paper predicted that World War Three would be fought with bioweapons. This work specifically identified SARS coronaviruses as a “new era of genetic weapons” that can be “artificially manipulated into an emerging human disease virus, then weaponized and unleashed in a way never seen before.”

In 2017 biology was designated “one of the seven new domains of warfare” in a book titled New Highland of War published by the National Defense University and authored by Zhang Shibo. Zhang is a retired People’s Liberation Army general and the former president of China’s National Defense University. In his book, Zhang argued that modern biotech development was now showing significant offensive capability. He even suggested the possibility of targeting bioweapons to only impact certain designated ethnic groups. China might now be able to single out and kill only people of particular ethnicities thereby emptying target territories of pesky enemies and subversives.

As of 2017 the Science of Military Strategy a textbook published by the PLA’s National Defense University introduced a new section on “biology as a domain of military struggle.” This section explicitly discusses biological warfare based on targeted attacks on particular ethnicities.

Biological Weapons the Focus of China’s Military Research in the Last 20 Years | JAPAN Forward

Independent Chinese media outlet Caixin Global revealed that Chinese laboratories had in fact identified a mystery virus – later identified as COVID-19 – to be a highly infectious new pathogen by late December 2019. But they were ordered to stop further testing, destroy samples, and suppress the news to the fullest extent possible.

Lest there be any doubt, let’s be clear. China’s doctrine concerning offensive biological warfare is not just a theory. This is not an academic discussion. China has aggressively pursued biological weapons capabilities for years.

For example, China has been leading the world in the number of trials of the CRISPR gene-editing technology in humans. These trials include editing embryos that became the world’s first genetically altered humans. Many of the CRISPR trials have taken place at the PLA General Hospital under the control of the Chinese military. This is not the only PLA-connected location where such research has taken place. In fact, PLA medical institutions are major centers for biological work with military applications.

Open-source reporting indicates that there are at least three large biological weapons production facilities in China. These are the Yan’an Bacteriological Factory, the Dalian Biological Products Factory, and Changchun Biological Products Factory. These facilities reportedly currently produce bacteria-based weapons.

The Wuhan lab at the center of the COVID-19 pandemic has well-established longstanding ties to the Chinese military. The scientists studying bat diseases in Wuhan were working side by side with senior military officials. A Colonel Cao who is a researcher from the Academy of Military Medical Sciences of the People’s Liberation Army, works at Wuhan and actually sits on the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s advisory board. When the pandemic began Cao was second in command of the team sent into Wuhan to respond to the virus.

In fact, immediately after the pandemic broke out the Chinese government put the entire Wuhan lab formally under the control of a PLA Major-General, Chen Wei. Commentary at the time noted that this suggested strongly that the work at the lab that produced the virus must have been connected to the Chinese military.

This is the context in which Dr. Fauci decided to fund incredibly dangerous gain of function research at Wuhan. He may lie and claim he did not. Others may attempt to cast his efforts in the light that he was trying only to save lives. None of that will pass muster.

Communist China is under the control of a thuggish, totalitarian regime. It intends global domination. As detailed above, it decided many years ago that the offensive use of biological weapons was not only justified but key to its winning future wars. It has pursued that capability relentlessly ever since.

Against this backdrop, Fauci made sure that funding continued to flow to a lab working specifically on developing viruses that could infect humans, be communicated human to human, and have deadly consequences. He sent money from U.S. taxpayers to China either knowing that they could enhance Chinese biological weapons capabilities or not caring if they did.

The recklessness is breathtaking. We paid to arm our adversary, and a great many Americans may have died as a result.
